Therapy in Birmingham and online

A calm, unhurried space to work through what is difficult.

Available one-to-one in Birmingham and online throughout the UK.

Therapy Sessions

These sessions offer a calm, unhurried space to talk through what is difficult, understand it more clearly, and begin to find a different relationship with it.

Whether you are living with anxiety, navigating a significant loss, trying to change a habit that has held on longer than you expected, or simply feeling the weight of sustained stress, you are welcome here.

The work is gentle in pace and serious in intent. You will not be rushed, judged or pushed faster than feels right. But you will be listened to carefully, challenged where it helps, and supported to move.

What brings people to therapy?

People come here with different concerns.

What they share is the sense that something has become harder to manage than it once was.

Anxiety

A mind that will not quieten.

Worry that arrives without invitation and stays longer than it should. The feeling that something is about to go wrong, even when nothing is.

This includes social anxiety, health anxiety, generalised worry and the particular anxiety that builds around performance, evaluation or being seen.

Stress

Too much to hold.

The sense that the demands of daily life have outpaced your capacity to meet them. Exhaustion that sleep does not fix.

This includes stress related to work, relationships, financial pressure, educational demands, examinations and professional qualifications.

Phobias

Something specific that limits your life.

A fear that feels disproportionate but is very real. Avoidance that has quietly narrowed what feels possible.

This includes fears around travel, enclosed spaces, medical settings, animals, heights, public situations, or any specific trigger that has begun to shape what you do, where you go, or what you avoid.

Habit Change

A pattern you have tried to shift before.

Something you reach for without quite deciding to. Behaviour that no longer serves you but has become hard to move without support.

This includes habits around eating, mobile phone use, compulsive cleaning or tidying, and the kind of relentless rushing that has become a default way of moving through the day.

Grief

Loss that sits with you.

Sadness, anger, loneliness, feelings that arrive unexpectedly or stay longer than others think they should.

Sometimes grief comes without adequate support from the people around you. It becomes yours to bear privately, in the gaps between ordinary life. That kind of aloneness is its own difficulty.

This is a space where that experience is taken seriously.

How it feels to work together

If you have never been to therapy before, you may not know what to expect.

Here is what you will find.

  • Warmth, genuine interest and careful listening.
A space where you can speak honestly without fear of judgement. Someone who will reflect your experience back to you clearly and who brings their own humanity to the room.

  • I have grieved. I have felt the weight of sustained pressure. I have navigated significant change.
I do not share these things to make the work about me, but to let you know that what you bring will be met with real understanding, not just professional courtesy.

  • We work together, at your pace.
With your experience at the centre, we work toward whatever feels most pressing for you.

  • Methods and protocols
I use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy and other evidence-based approaches always in service of you, rather than the other way around. You are not being fitted to a model. The model is shaped around your experience, your history and what matters most to you right now.

If you have tried CBT before and found it mechanical or impersonal, this may feel different. Structure and warmth are not opposites here.

How therapy sessions work

Sessions are 60 minutes and are available one-to-one in Birmingham or online.

The first session is an opportunity to talk through what has brought you here. From there we establish a clear sense of what you want to work on and how best to approach it.

We spend time early on learning how to relax deeply. Using hypnosis, progressive muscle relaxation and simple attentional practices, you develop the capacity to notice what is happening in your body: where tension lives, where ease is possible, what safety feels like from the inside. For many people this is the first time they have been genuinely still in a long time. It becomes a foundation for everything that follows.

My practice draws on cognitive behavioural therapies, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy and compassion-focused approaches, integrated around your specific concerns and delivered at a pace that suits you. Where it helps, we also work with the different voices and parts of experience that shape how you think and feel.

For phobias and anxiety, the work follows a structured process: building the coping tools first, then working gradually and carefully through the feared experience, with rehearsal and feedback at every stage. You are never pushed into something before you are ready. The pace is yours.

Fees and booking

Weekly therapy works best when there is continuity and consistency.

Sessions build gradually over time, allowing meaningful and lasting change to take place.

Your first two sessions are available at an introductory rate of £50 per session.

This gives us time to understand what has brought you here, begin building the foundations of the work, and establish whether this is the right fit for you.

Sessions thereafter are £75 per session.

There is no fixed commitment required at the outset.

You can book a single session or continue for as long as the work feels valuable and necessary.

Questions before booking?

If you have a question before booking, you are welcome to get in touch.

This is not a consultation. It is simply a space to ask whatever you need to feel ready to take the next step.
